Leading Bakery Manufacturer Gains Daily Visibility Over Field Sales and Stock Damage in a Single View

A leading bread and pastry manufacturer, part of a larger conglomerate’s brand portfolio, sends area sales managers to visit shops and malls every day to check stock and restock shelves. Management had no simple way to see how many of those planned visits were done and how many were still pending. The only option was to ask each manager or wait for an informal update. Damaged product, such as packets that never reached a shelf, was also not recorded anywhere shared, so losses were known only to the people involved at the time.

The company built a Daily Forecasting Report System on Joget that pulls visit data from a data warehouse and shows, for each day, completed versus outstanding visits. The same app includes a product damage report, so damaged items are logged and reviewed in one place. Management now checks a single daily report in the Joget portal instead of chasing updates, which saves follow-up time and makes it easier to spot which areas often have pending visits and where damage happens most.

Challenges CHALLENGES

No Clear View of Daily Field Activity

  • Area sales managers were expected to visit a set number of customer sites each day as part of their route — checking stock levels, restocking, or managing relationships with shop and mall customers.
  • However, there was no easy way for management to see, on a given day, how many of those planned visits had actually been completed versus how many were still outstanding.
  • Getting this picture required either asking area sales managers directly or waiting for them to report back informally, rather than having visit completion visible at a glance across the team.
  • Separately, there was also no consolidated way to report on damaged product. For example, packets damaged in transit or handling that never made it to a shop or mall shelf. Instances of damage were likely known to the individuals involved at the time, but weren’t captured in a shared, reportable format.
  • Together, these two gaps meant that building a complete daily picture of field performance — who had completed their visits, and what product losses had occurred, depended on manual follow-up and informal updates, rather than being available as a straightforward report.

Solutions SOLUTIONS

One Daily Report for Visits and Product Damage

  • A Daily Forecasting Report System was built that pulls visit data from a data warehouse into Joget, showing, for each day, how many of the planned customer visits were completed versus how many remain outstanding — giving management a clear, immediate view of field visit progress without needing to check with each area sales manager individually.
  • The same app includes a product damage report, allowing damaged items such as packets that didn’t reach their intended shop or mall — to be logged and consolidated into a single, reportable view rather than remaining informal or untracked.
  • Because both visit completion and product damage data are pulled into the same app, management can view both aspects of daily field performance together, rather than as separate, disconnected pieces of information.

Decision- makings

Sales visit completion and product damage figures are now both available as part of a daily report inside the Joget portal, giving management a consistent, at-a-glance view of field activity each day.

Management can check this report directly rather than relying on area sales managers to report the same information informally, saving time on follow-up and giving a more complete, timely picture of daily operations.

With visit and damage data consolidated in one place, patterns such as which areas consistently have visits pending, or where product damage occurs more frequently — become easier to observe over time and hence facilitated decision making.
