Baosteel Replaced Manual Vehicle Scheduling and Reporting with a Full Fleet Lifecycle System

Baosteel Engineering Technology Group, a subsidiary of China’s Baowu Iron and Steel Group, was managing its corporate vehicle fleet through fragmented communications, unclear occupancy schedules, and manual cost tracking. There was no way to review expenses in an organised manner, and frequent conflicts between vehicle bookings and actual usage were common.

Joget’s partner, Valuprosys Technology built a Business Vehicle Management System on Joget covering the full vehicle lifecycle, from scheduling and refueling to maintenance and disposal. The system runs through enterprise WeChat on mobile, with subsidiary data kept independent and accessible to headquarters in real time.

Challenges CHALLENGES

Manual Scheduling, Unclear Costs

  • Frequent communications and cumbersome clarifications were required among car users, administrators, and drivers.

  • Car occupancy status was unclear and scheduling was inefficient.

  • Difficulties in calculating operating costs and monitoring refueling and maintenance costs.

  • Unable to review expenses in an organized manner.

  • Frequent conflicts between car applications and actual car usage, leading to a ‘use first, submit later’ scenario.

"Each subsidiary's data is independent and centralised, allowing headquarters to view key business insights with greater transparency and minimal data silos, directly from mobile devices."
